An average female lives 3 years more than an average male in India.

Women live longer than men

According to recent statistics on the life expectancy of average men and women in India, an average man’s life expectancy has increased by 15 years in the previous 40 years while that of women has increased by 18 years in the previous four decades.

Even when the world populations’ lifespan was checked, it was found that it had increased in more than 10 years i.e. since the 1970 at which an average male’s lifespan stood at 56.4 years and increased to 67.5 years in 2010.  On the other hand, an average female’s lifespan stood at 63.2 years in 1970 and increased to 73.3 years in 2010.

When looking at the world’s stand in terms of population’s lifespan, an average Chinese man is likely to live ten years and an average Chinese woman is likely to live 13 years longer than an Indian. According to the world’s largest study on life expectancy in 187 countries for every decade from 1970 to 2010 published by the British Medical journal Lancet, an average male’s LE increased by 11.1 years and that of a female increased by 12.1 years.
