Urine therapy is a type of alternative therapy that refers to various applications of human urine for medicinal or cosmetic purposes. Urine therapy is also referred to as urotherapy, urinotherapy or uropathy. Various ways in which urine may be used include drinking of one's own urine and massaging one's skin with one's own urine. Although urine therapy is claimed to be very effective healing modality, scientific evidence of a therapeutic use for urine are not present.
The Bowen Technique is a holistic system of healing started by an osteopath Tom Bowen (1916–1982). In this form of alternative therapy a gentle, rolling motion, with very light touches is given. This is believed to tighten or loosen off muscles based on the way the move is done. The practitioner stimulates set of points with the moves and gives pauses of two minute in between the moves to allow the body to use the move and integrate it into the body's system. Bowen Technique is not a type of massage even though it is supposed to release areas of built-up stress in the muscles. A session usually lasts for 30 to 45 minutes, with occasional 2-5 minute breaks to let the body respond to the treatment.
The Bowen Technique practitioners claim that the stimulation helps the body to heal itself.
