What are the Risk Factors for Nausea?

Understand Nausea - There can be many reasons for Nausea but some medical conditions increase the risk.

Nausea and vomiting can be caused due to several reasons. Some risks factors for nausea include:


Migraines: Many people with migraines often have bouts of nausea and at times, vomiting.


Food Poisoning: It occurs due to eating contaminated food or drinks. Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms of this condition.


Chemotherapy: Treatment of cancer with drugs (chemotherapeutic agents) can cause nausea and vomiting. Some types of cancer and severe infection can also cause nausea.


Stomach Flu:
A stomach flu or stomach infection is a common risk factor that causes nausea. Most cases settle down in a few hours and rarely last more than 48 hours.


Allergies: People with allergies, such as cow milk protein allergy (that is allergy to cow milk) can have extreme nausea and vomiting.
