What is Ayurvedic Medicine?

Ayurvedic medicine is constantly gaining popularity as an alternative medical treatment across the globe. These medicines work by curing the root cause of the disease.

Ayurvedic medicines originated in India over thousands year back. Since last couple number of years, ayurveda has become increasingly popular across the globe. These medicines focus on treating the root cause of disease. Ayurveda treat through customised plan that involves internal cleaning through alterations in diet, herbal combinations, herbs, exercises and medicines.

 

History of Ayurveda Medicines


Ayurvedic treatment emphasise prevention of ailment to avoid the need of treatment. Ayurveda originated in India thousand years ago but systematic researches on ayurvedic medicines started in 1969. Ayurveda holds specific belief about general health and physical body. General quality of health is referred to as ‘prakriti’ or constitution in ayurveda. Praktiti consist three energies namely, vata, pitta and kapha.

  • Pitta is made up of fire and water.
  • Vata is made up of space and air.
  • Kapha is made of water and earth.

Ayurvedic medicine helps to balance these doshas and increase body’s ability to resist and recover from diseases.
