You must have seen your grandparents not wearing any glasses until they reached their 70s. Nowadays, teenagers are complaining of blurry vision! This is a warning sign and we must not ignore it. Here are some weird causes of low vision.

Taking medications for acne control

This must have come as a shocker to you, isn’t it? Well, if you are receiving medicines for acne, you might have to deal with vision-related problems. Acne medicines contain isotretinoin which has many side effects. Due to this, the person may suffer problems like dry eyes and pink eyes or conjunctivitis during the medicine course. Apart from this, the consumption of this drug may cause miscarriage in pregnant women.

Not eating sour foods

Vitamin C is one of the vital vitamins that our body needs. You must have understood the importance of vitamin C by now during this pandemic situation. Sour foods like tomatoes, lemons, mangoes, oranges, Indian gooseberry or amla, strawberries, etc. have plenty of vitamin C in them. Lack of vitamin C causes free radical damage which also damages your eyesight. Not just oranges but there are many other foods rich in vitamin C that you should consume.

Reading too much

If you study for a long time but do not take some necessary measures to relax the eyes, this can also make your eyes worse. Too much reading without relaxation is bad for the eyes. You must do eye exercises other than blinking your eyes while reading. Resting the eyes by stopping for 2 minutes every 20-30 minutes when studying continuously. If you are studying continuously for hours, then wash your eyes with cold water or place ice on the eyes to relax them. This will give comfort to the eyes and the eyes will be fine for a long time.

Excessive use of mobile phone

If you use screen gadgets such as mobiles, laptops, televisions and computers, etc. excessively, your eyes may become weak over time. Blue light is used in most digital screens which has a bad effect on your eyes. People who spend more than 1-2 hours a day on mobile face more problems with weak eyes.

Play less outside the house in childhood

This is weirdest of them all. If you stayed indoors as a child, you might be at risk of low vision. Children these days aren’t involving in outdoor activities which affect their health negatively. Not only do they get vitamin D-deficient but also develop eye problems. Parents must encourage their kids to play outdoors. Ask them to take morning and evening sunlight for overall health.
