A new research has revealed that people with a bigger belly are more likely to be at risk of vitamin D deficiency. The levels of vitamin D are lower in obese people, particularly in people who are larger around the waist – they should get their vitamin D levels checked to prevent any future health problems.
Obesity is a major global concern for most of the population of the world. It is a condition when a person accumulates excess body fat that it starts affecting their health. It could lead to emotional, psychological and physical health problems in an individual.
According to the lead author of the study, Rachida Rafiq said, “Although we did not vitamin D deficiency in our study, the strong relationship between increasing amounts of abdominal fat and lower levels of vitamin D suggests that individuals with larger waistlines are at a greater risk of developing deficiency and should consider having their vitamin D levels checked.”
The data was presented in Barcelona at the European Society of Endocrinology annual meeting, ECE 2018.

Obesity can interrupt your sleep patterns and you could end up sleeping throughout the night or experience sleepiness during the day. It may trigger heavy snoring as well. When the added weight of the chest wall squeezes the lungs and causes restricted breathing, respiratory problems may occur.
