Coronavirus

Coronavirus has taken the world by storm. The deadly virus that originated in China has now spread with more than 65,000 confirmed cases all across the globe. In India only, three 2019-nCoV positive cases of this fatal virus have been identified until now. The death toll due to coronavirus has reached 1491 out of which 1470 are from China only. World Health Organization(WHO) has declared this as a global medical emergency as it has affected nearly 28 countries. The numbers are increasing day-by-day which is extremely alarming.

According to WHO, the epicentre of coronavirus is a seafood market in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. This virus is not only affecting humans but also animals like bats, cats and camels. 3 Chinese cities have been put on lockdown to prevent the contagious coronavirus. Also, the evacuation process to bring home the stranded people in different cities of China is being run by government officials for the safety of their nationals.

 

Symptoms Of Coronavirus

The initial symptoms of this virus are:

  • Fever
  • Throat pain
  • Cough and cold
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chronic headaches

The fever may trigger the condition of pneumonia which would complicate the health of the affected further. Also, people who already dealing with some serious health issues such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome(MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS). 

Prevention Tips

Here are some precautionary steps that need to be taken to safeguard yourself from the attack of this deathly virus attack.

  • Keep your hands clean and sanitized. Wash them before and after cooking; after using the toilet; after coming in contact with and animal.
  • Cover your mouth with a tissue paper or clean handkerchief during coughing and sneezing. 
  • Avoid coming in close contact with a person who has flu and cold-like symptoms.
  • Prevent the consumption of meat. Strictly stop the consumption of seafood as this epidemic is said to have spread through seafood.
  • When you see similar signs and symptoms, consult a doctor immediately.

Treatment

Doctors and medical scientists all around the world are trying to develop a coronavirus prevention vaccine or treatment but no success so far has been seen. The death numbers by this deadly virus are increasing rapidly which has made the invention of nCoV-prevention a necessity for humankind. Meanwhile, you must adopt preventive tips to forestall the coronavirus infection and lead a healthy life.
