Medical researchers at the Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (US) have made a genetic breakthrough to identify the underlying causes of arthritis. They suggest that a simple blood test could help diagnose arthritis early in the near future. Apart from diagnosis of arthritis early, the blood test could be used to identify other medical conditions such as Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
