Cases of swine flu are rampant in Delhi, and are rising with each day. At such a time experts have warned saying that pregnant women should not take the common cold or mild temperature symptoms casually. It has been declared that pregnant women are more prone to the H1N1 virus.

It has been reported that expecting mothers must be careful and should read more into the common cold and fever, as H1N1 could lead to complications such as still birth, increased rate of morality of mother and baby, pre-mature delivery or even death of the foetus that is developing in the womb.
A healthcare centre in Gurgaon, gave treatment to two pregnant women for the flu in the last fortnight.
According to the head of the neonatal department of the health centre – The Cradle, Gurgaon – they treated two women - one was 33-week pregnant, while the other was 36-week pregnant for the flu.
The alarming news is that doctors in the city have been witnessing a rise in the score of women complaining of cold and flu-like symptoms, which was attributed to the change in weather. Experts have also warned against popping paracetamol to suppress temperature as it may trigger complications.
