Swine flu threatens New Delhi again. 21 more cases recorded on Sunday.
Twenty-one new cases of swine flu Influenza A (H1N1) virus were reported across various public and private hospitals in New Delhi on Sunday.
According to the reports in media, a senior state health ministry official said that three deaths due to swine flu have been registered so far in the national capital.
These cases were reported mainly from Safdurjung, Ram Manohar Lohia and Lok Nayak hospitals. While among private hospitals, Max hospital, Apollo and Fortis reported one case each.
The official also mentioned that at least seven patients are receiving treatment from home.
"One patient who was confirmed positive for swine flu got the tests done in Delhi and is admitted at Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital in Ghaziabad. Three people have died in swine flu in Delhi this year,” the official said.
Meanwhile, AK Walia, Delhi Health minister, said that the state is completely prepared and equipped to fight the disease.
"Medicines have been arranged and are in adequate supply. We have also had a meeting with hospitals with regard to testing facilities and that has been arranged," he said.
