Maintaining body weight is of prime importance to keep obesity and its consequences in the form of diseases, such as diabetes, heart attack, stroke and some types of cancer at bay. Instead of following diet plans, you may reduce a considerable amount of weight by adhering to regular intake of juices.

Vegetable Juice

Including one glass of low sodium vegetable diet in your daily diet will help shed off the extra weight. A study was conducted in Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in which 81 overweight individuals were asked to drink one cup of low sodium V-8 veggie juice. After 12 weeks of consumption, it was found that the individuals lost four pounds whereas people following a low-fat diet, who didn’t take vegetable juice, lost only one pound during the same period. Vegetable juice is loaded with fibre and is low on calories. It keeps one feel fuller for longer, reducing the calorie intake, which aids in weight loss.

Lemon Juice

Regular intake of lemon juice may also assist in weight loss. Lemonade diet has become a hit since Beyonce Knowles, a well-known singer and actor took to lemonade diet to lose 20 pounds.  Vitamin C present in lemon aids in weight control and metabolises fats.  Aim to begin your day with a glass of warm water with a lemon squeezed in it. This will cut down flabs and increase metabolism (calorie burning ability). If you consume lemon juice while following an effective weight loss program, you will certainly  reap more benefits.

Grapefruit Juice

Grapefruit is low on calories i.e. about half of a grapefruit gives only 50 calories. Moreover, it is an excellent source of dietary fibre. It makes one feel fuller for longer thus, preventing you from packing on too many calories. Grapefruit regulates the production of insulin, an increase of which can result in unwanted weight gain. Grapefruit provides good amount of glucose to keep the body cells working efficiently and correctly so that extra fat is used for energy production. Ensure that your grapefruit juice is unsweetened and a part of your weight loss diet plan.

Cranberry Juice

Fresh and unsweetened cranberry juice can be an excellent addition to your weight loss diet plan. Drinking sweetened cranberry juice provides empty calories that make it harder for you to lose weight. One cup of unsweetened cranberry juice contains over 123.97 calories, out of which 4.55 come from fat. Cranberry juice gives 29 per cent of recommended vitamin C value to the body. Vitamin C helps in metabolising fats and increases the rate of calorie-burning.

For permanent weight loss, ensure that you strictly follow a healthy diet plan along with a daily exercise regime.
