The day is celebrated to bring to the forefront issues related to men’s health, improving gender relations, promoting equality between genders and highlighting positive male role models.

According to the website, www.internationalmensday.com, “It is an occasion for men to highlight discrimination against them and to merrily celebrate their achievements and contributions to community and family.”

Here are some of the ideas to let all the men in our lives know that we love them.

  • A day off from house work – It's International Men's Day, his day. Don't ask them to help you household chores, such as doing dishes or laundry. He deserves a day off from helping out around the house.
  • Host a party – Party will be a great idea! Call all men who matter in your life and their friends. Join them in the celebration.
  • Outing or a movie night – Men like outings or movies nights as much as women. Take him to a movie tonight, the genre he loves watching.
  • Don't stop there – Don’t stop at International Men's Day. Let them know at all times how much you love, appreciate and value them.

Happy International Men's Day!
