How to Prevent Infidelity

Infidelity has become a common cause of break up in romantic relationships and marriage. Here are ways you can prevent infidelity.

How to Prevent Infidelity

Marriage does not suggest that your emotions or feelings for a man or woman except your wife/husband should be closed shut. The important thing, however, is how you and your partner take care of your insecurity and attractions well. Although, it is quite difficult to get people to openly discuss about their sex life beyond marriage, several researches have yielded substantial amount of results, which report that about 25 percent of men and 10 to 15 percent of women have had sex with someone other than their spouse. Other studies have confirmed that most divorces due to infidelity take place before the seventh wedding anniversary.

Infidelity has been found to be the cause of more than half of the total divorce cases. Most of these divorce cases found that either of the partners was in a state of extreme depression at the time of divorce. It is time that newlyweds take the necessary precautions or steps to waver off the probability of having an unfaithful partner before marriage becomes a phobia. Here are ways you can make your marriage affair-proof.

Make Marriage your Top Priority

Consider marriage as the most important thing in your life. This will make you consider your spouse before anyone else. Friends and family members are important as well, but they must not bring problems in your relationship. If you stay up at work most of the day, make sure you spend time with your spouse on weekends. Shut your phone off when you are with your spouse. Make sure that you make decisions together because that is what marriage boils down to eventually. Keep yours as well as your spouse’s needs above others.

Set Boundaries to Flirting

Some people are naturally friendly or flirtatious with people, which can get them into trouble with their spouse. Certain behaviours can set the wrong signals to your spouse and invite awkward situations. Be aware of your moves or behaviour and switch to one that is safe and not harmful to anybody. Avoid discussing details about your sex life with a colleague. Such intimate conversations must be restricted to your spouse. Be wary to work these points out with people you meet online, as well.

Avoid Keeping Secrets from your Spouse

Insecurity sprouts when you do not let your partner know everything that is going in your life. If one fine day, your spouse sees you with a colleague of the opposite sex, there is a probability of him or her putting you through a difficult conversation. Make sure you let your partner know of all the people you have in your life. Talk to your spouse about your day before you go to bed.
