How can one prevent Heart Murmur

What we call a heart murmur is basically an abnormal sound that made by the turbulent blood flow within the human heart, these murmurs can be an indication of a heart problem or it could simply be a normal sound. Therefore, there is a wide possibility of the murmur in your heart being harmless. It has also been found that for children such heart murmurs go away with time as they age, and for adults they seem to disappear as and when the underlying factor improves.

But then the bad news is that when there is a congenital heart defect attached to the heart murmur then there is no way to prevent them. You can however definitely take care of it in the best ways you can.

Here are some other ways in which you can take care of it:

  • A high risk of endocarditis will lead your doctor or dentist to prescribe special antibiotics before doing any medical or dental procedure. During this bacteria could enter your blood and infect your heart. You also can help to prevent endocarditis by avoiding intravenous drug use.
  • Prevent heart-valve abnormalities by preventing rheumatic fever. To do this you will need to take antibiotics exactly as prescribed whenever you have strep throat.
  • Those who have had one episode of rheumatic fever may need to take antibiotics for up to 10 years after the first attack to prevent the disease from returning.

  • Monitor blood pressure
