After working throughout the day, everyone needs a proper sleep for refreshing the mind and body. As per Ayurveda, before sleeping, consuming hot milk helps to sleep better. Warm milk before sleeping also helps in curing various sleep-related issues like insomnia. One recipe that can certainly help you sleep better is the moon milk. It is a tasty and soothing drink, which is made from Indian spices like Withania, somnifera (Ashwagandha), nutmeg (Jaayaphal) and turmeric. It is quite alike turmeric milk. It is believed that moon milk has several benefits. Along with providing relief, it also leads to adequate sleep, balances hormone reduces stress and helps to support the immune system. Here’s how it is made:

Ingredients

  • Milk 1 glass
  • Ashwagandha powder ½ spoon
  • Turmeric power ½ spoon
  • A pinch of Nutmeg powder 
  • Edible coconut oil one spoon ( optional)

Method: Warm milk on medium or slow flame. Add ashwagandha, turmeric and nutmeg. Turn off the gas and cover milk. Keep the spices in milk for 5-10 minutes. Add edible coconut oil in it and beat it. You can also add some sugar or honey if you want. Pour it in a glass and drink it before you go to bed.
