Dr. P.K. Dave, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Rockland Hospital, New Delhi says that people haviing arthritis should be careful. If you are travelling in an aircraft, you sit with your legs folded for a longer period of time. There is no much movement in the joints, resulting in swollen joints. The limbs have the tendency to swell up if not in a motion for a longer period of time. If you have put off your shoes during the flight then you won’t able to put on your shoes at the end of the flight. So try to do some active exercises for your ankles and your knee while sitting in the aircraft. This will maintain the mobility of the joints.
