What your finger length says about your health

Certain physical characteristics can make you vulnerable to certain health risks. The length of a certain finger could lead to a simmering health problem or an indication of some attributes.

According to the study done in the British Journal of Cancer,  men whose ring fingers are longer than their index fingers have high probablility to develop prostate cancer. Chances are you might have already checked your fingers and found the cause for alarm, but don't worry- as majority of men have long ring finger.

Digit Ratio

In last ten years, "digit ratio" has been supposed to predict many diverse traits, risks, recompense and deficiencies. The digit ratio comprises of the lengths of different digits or fingers that are measured from the midpoint of bottom crease where the finger joins the hand to the tip.

That You're a Man

Digit ratio is to some level sexually dimorphic in which men tend to have longer ring fingers while women likely have equal ring and index fingers, but variations can be even wider diagonally in diverse ethnic groups. According to Dr John Manning- the researcher of digit ratio, "There's more difference between a Pole and a Finn than a man and a woman."

Your Fertility

In his Digit Ratio book of 2002: Pointer to Fertility, Behavior and Health, Manning found that men with longer ring fingers tended to be more fertile while It goes the other way round in the case of women.

Your Risk of a Heart Attack

Testosterone is understood to save from harm against heart attacks, and a 2001 study showed a lesser menace of early heart attacks in men with the smallest index-to-ring finger ratios.
