Get rid of those parasites. Now!

Intestinal parasites infect the gastrointestinal tract— primarily the walls of the intestines— posing risks of various health problems related to digestion. The parasites usually enter your body through contaminated food, water and skin. Poor hygiene, weak immune system and eating undercooked food allow the parasites to infect the intestines.  You can take over-the-counter medications to get rid of intestinal worms depending on the type of parasite your body is breeding if you so wish, but let us tell you, these home remedies to treat intestinal worms are just as safe and effective as any OTC drug. In severe cases, speak with your doctor for a informed treatment.

Garlic is best known for fighting the roundworms, giardia lamblia and pinworms with its antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties. These worms infect the gut and disrupt functions of the digestive tract. Eat raw garlic on an empty stomach every day for one week or boil garlic in one cup of milk and drink it.

Carom seeds

Carom seeds can also be used to treat intestinal worms as they have a compound called thymol which has the ability to prevent growth of undesired worms in the stomach.  Ayurveda recommends that carom seeds be taken with jaggery to treat the intestinal worms.  Eat a little amount of jaggery in the morning on an empty stomach and wait for half an hour. Now eat half or quarter of one teaspoonful of carom seeds with a glassful of water. Repeat this once every day for a couple of weeks to treat the worms completely.

Turmeric acts as an internal antiseptic and has antimicrobial properties that can kill intestinal worms. Besides, it can also relieve symptoms of bloating, excessive gas, nausea and abdominal pain. Extract juice from raw turmeric and add a pinch of salt to it. Drink it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for at least a week for best results.

Cloves are known for their antiseptic, bactericidal and anti-parasitic properties. Add one teaspoonful of powdered clove to a cupful of hot water and let it steep for few minutes. Drink this mixture for at least a week.

Neem is an effective natural treatment for intestinal worms. It has anti-parasitic properties that not only remove worms but also help in getting rid of toxins. Grind neem leaves to a fine paste and eat half a tablespoonful of this paste with a glassful of water every morning on an empty stomach for a week.

Carrots are high in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, which can also be used as a cure for intestinal worms. Besides, the vitamin C and zinc present in carrots also support the immune system. A strong immune system will fight off parasites more efficiently. So, drink carrot juice first thing in the morning every day to get rid of intestinal worms. Image Source: Getty
