The traditional attire for women comprises multicoloured three-piece dress with a skirt-like bottom, embroidered blouse and bandhani duppatta. For a more Gujarati look, these clothing pieces are adorned with shells, mirrors and beads. Jewellery options include jhumkas (danglers), necklaces, kangans (bangles), kamarbandh and payals (anklets).

It is more of a Rajasthani dress, but is worn during Navratris too. This is a dress that looks closest to chaniya choli and is equally colourful. For a more fashionable look, you could opt for a lehenga–saree which is a unique yet popular option. Just make sure your lehenga has enough width to let you dance freely. Another version of lehenga, but with a longer choli, is Lancha which can make you look sophisticated yet traditional on the dance floor. The best part of the attire is that you will look different from the similarly-dressed women and will be the centre of attention.

For Dandiya Raas and Garba, men wear a colourful two-piece dress with a turban. If you don’t want to wear it, you could choose one of the following options.
A short, embroidered kurta with a flared bottom is the most popular dressing style for men. It is accompanied by a kafni pyjama, which again is colourful and loose fitting.
This traditional dress will give you a completely different look from others. It specially goes well for men with muscular built. You could swap the sherwani with kurta for a more comfortable look.
