The amazing uses of apple cider vinegar

If you’re still using apple cider vinegar only as salad dressing, you’re missing out on its all-natural beauty uses. It might sound new to you, but the uses of apple cider vinegar (ACV) can be traced back to 400 BC. ACV is often used to treat common cold, muscle pain, arthritis pain, diabetes, high cholesterol and weight issues because it is a rich source of acetic, citric and malic acids as well as vitamins, enzymes, mineral salts and amino acids. But, you can also use ACV as a beauty tonic. We will tell you how.

ACV has antiseptic and antibacterial properties that keep skin pores clean by removing bacteria, oil and other dust particles. This helps prevent acne and restore skin’s pH, which is again important to prevent breakouts. Mix 1 part raw, unfiltered ACV with 2 parts of filtered water in a bowl. Soak a cotton ball in this solution and apply it to the affected area. Rinse it off with warm water after 10 minutes.

People with an oily skin will thank apple cider vinegar for its astringent properties. It also is a rich source of alpha hydroxyl acids that increase blood flow to the skin and minimize pores. Mix half cup each of apple cider vinegar and water. Using a cotton ball, apply this solution to your skin. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse off with cold water. People with normal skin may use one part ACV with two parts of water to make skin tone brighter. If you have an extremely sensitive skin, you might add more water to the solution (one part ACV and four parts water).

Banish the embarrassment that smelly feet cause by disinfecting your feet with apple cider vinegar – it helps eliminate odour-causing bacteria. Mix one cup of ACV in five cups of warm water to prepare a foot soak. Soak your feet in this solution for 10 to 15 minutes. Finally, wash your feet thoroughly with an antibacterial soap and water.

If you spend too much time in the sun, its harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause sunburn, which in turn can damage your skin, causing redness, pain and itching. Being an astringent, ACV is a vernacular treatment for sunburn. Mix equal parts of ACV and cool water and massage it onto the affected areas to calm the skin. Repeat several times daily for a few days until your condition improves.
