Sin of Overeating

Most times we are bad managers of food that we consume; most times we think we are hungry when all we need is a glass of plain water. So, overindulging in food is fairly common for us, we tend to do that more than we would like to, and this poses as a great threat to our body. Anything in excess is bad, even water. Now resistant may not be your forte, you may have an aversion to resist the temptation of good food, but that does not mean that you cannot damage control afterwards. Take a Walk

We know it is a terrible experience to sit with an over filled stomach, but that can be taken care of. All you have to do is to rise up. Now this is not as easy as it may sound. Eating a giant meal can make you immobile, and all you want to do is rest. But walking can improve your digestion and food absorption. For added benefits you should walk and massage your abdomen with your palms.

Drink Lots of Water

Here is a common practice for you which should not be too difficult to follow. After your meal you must make sure to drink loads of water. Drink a few glasses of water after you have had a night of excesses and you will make your way to a better health. Water will hydrate your body and also flush out the toxins. Remember that excess alcohol always needs excess water to fight it.

Drink Green Tea

You should drink some green tea as it helps your body to cut all the accumulated fat and the cholesterol levels. Studies have shown that your cup of green tea contains certain polyphenols which are basically plant based antioxidants which works to break down fat from your body. This will help you with your cholesterol level and BMI.

Eat Again

Yes, you should eat foods that will ease the uneasy feeling that you might be having after overindulgence. This means you should eat foods such as pineapple, papaya or yogurt. These foods help the process of digestion. Pineapple for example is such a food that helps to break down protein and it makes it easier for your body to digest your food.

Do not Lie Down

This is one of the worst things to do when you have overeaten. Never lie down. You will be very tempted to hit the sac after a big, greasy meal, but you must not. Wait for at least three hours after your meal so as to avoid any acid reflux. This is because the gastric juices will be working real hard to help in your food digestion.

Just Move Around

If you cannot do any of the above then you should at least make an effort to move around in your own space at home. This is better than nothing! Like we said, the worst thing you can do is to sit back or lie down. Therefore, move as much as possible, you do not have to run or walk if you don’t want to. But at least move!

Bring a Change

Above all the most important thing to do when you are facing such a situation is to change your eating habits. In order to enjoy the most from your meals you should eat six meals a day, and eat smaller portions instead of having a huge meal that would make you feel uncomfortable.
