Warm salt water for infected belly button piercing

Warm salt water is an effective remedy for treating infections caused by belly button piercing. Heat from the warm water increases flow of blood to the infected area whereas salt helps absorb moisture to boost  healing. Besides, it acts as a wonderful disinfectant. All you have to do is add 1 teaspoonful of salt in a cupful of warm water. Now dip a cotton ball in the solution and clean the infected area with it. You can later apply an antibacterial cream on it. Repeat the procedure twice a day to get rid of the infection.

Warm compress for infected belly button piercing

Use of warm compress is quite effective in relieving discomfort and pain caused by the infection. Dip a clean washcloth in warm water and wring out excess water. Now place this warm cloth on the infected area for a few minutes. You may need to repeat it several times a day to reduce pain and discomfort.

Tea tree oil for infected belly button piercing

Tea tree oil contains antifungal, antibacterial and antiseptic properties that make it a wonderful remedy for belly button infection. Take few drops of tea tree oil and add 1 teaspoonful of olive in it. Now apply this mixture with a cotton ball on the affected area. Leave it on for a few minutes. Repeat this 2-3 times in day to cure the infection.

Rub alcohol to treat infected belly button piercing

You can also rub alcohol on the affected area. Its antiseptic property will help sterilize the infection and prevent it from spreading. Besides, it will also reduce irritation and pain. Apply a small amount of alcohol on the affected area using a cotton ball. Leave it on for some time. For best results, reapply several times a day for a week or two.

White vinegar for infected belly button piercing

White vinegar, known for its acidic nature, is an excellent remedy to stop discharge from an infection and prevent further spread of the infection. Add 1 part of vinegar in 2 parts of lukewarm water and apply it with the help a cotton swab on the infection. Leave it on for a few minutes.
