Manage those Strands

When you run your hands through your long, lustrous and smooth strands of hair, it may occur to be one of the best feelings in this world. But, there may be times when the same long strands of hair turn into a disaster and leave you frustrated beyond measures. Frizz, dryness, brittleness or dandruff can make your hair go out of control, leading to some serious bad hair days. Whatever the reason behind your non-cooperative hair is, you will always have the solution ready for you in your kitchen cupboard. Make a mask with these useful ingredients and forget all your hair woes.

Coconut Oil Rub

Coconut is filled with fatty acids and can penetrate into the hair shaft. After reaching there it then helps the ends to seal and smoothens the cuticles. When you have smoother strands of hair they reflect more in light than rough ones. Hence, you you see a boost in your hair's shine. Massage your scalp with it starting from the end. Let it stay for 30 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo.

Citrus Cream Mask

This hair mask is best suited for you if your hair is super dry. When mixed with cream, oil and butter, this hair mask can fulfill the moisture needs of your hair. The antioxidants present in grapefruit can protect the fungus from developing that can cause scalp flaking. Take 2 eggs, 2 oz heavy cream, 1oz olive oil, 1 oz melted butter, juice of a half grapefruit and mix them together. Apply it on the entire length and massage the scalp for 5 to 10 minutes. Leave it on for 20 minutes or overnight and then rinse it with shampoo.

Avocado-Honey Mask

If your hair suffers from sun damage, this is the best remedy for you. Avocado has monosaturated fatty acids which along with olive oil can penetrate into the hair's shaft and soften it from inside. While avocado performs its job, honey conditions and coats it to boost shine. Take 1 ripe avocado, 1-2 tablespoonfuls of honey and 3-5 tablespoonfuls of olive oil. Mash the avocado and stir in honey and olive oil. Apply on the roots and along the length. Let it stay for 30 to 60 minutes and then wash it off.

Beer Wash

If you want to add volume to your limp hair this is what you need the most. Take half a bottle of beer if you have short hair or use full bottle in case of long hair and open it to let the carbonation settle. Leave it open for 30 minutes and then apply it on your hair. Wash after 15 to 20 minutes or simply style your hair without rinsing.

Fresh Tea Rinse

When you have greasy or oily scalp, your hair appears to be limp. Wash the extra oil off with leave-on rinse featuring mouthwash and chamomile tea. These ingredients will soak up the extra sebum and enhance the flow of blood to the scalp. Take any kind of mouthwash and chamomile tea. Brew the tea and allow it to cool. Combine both the ingredients and shake them well. Shampoo and condition the hair and then towel dry hair. Put some of this mixture over the scalp and rub it gently and leave it.

Olive Oil and Egg Yolk

This is a highly nourishing hair mask which requires only two ingredients- eggs and olive oil. While egg is rich in protein, vitamins and fat, olive oil is considered to be one of the best nourishing and moisturizing oils for dry hair. Whisk the egg yolk and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix well. Apply the mixture on the scalp with clean fingers for 1-2 minutes. Let the pack stay for 15 minutes and then rinse it off thoroughly with cold water.

Strawberry Hair Mask

Strawberries are loaded with vitamin C which can nourish your hair to the roots. Strawberries are your one stop solution to control scalp oil. It can gently rinse away the excess oil and regulate the natural ph of the scalp. Blend handful of strawberries, a tablespoon coconut oil and a tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture to damp hair and rinse with warm water.
