Prevent the Torture

Psoriasis, which is an autoimmune disorder, is a skin disorder. While in usual cases the condition is only irritating, in extreme cases, it can be a lot torture. In a 2010 study, it was found that psoriasis patients are at a higher risk of depression, suicidal thoughts and anxiety. Although the cause of the condition may not be known, there are certain triggers which sufferers must avoid.

Alcohol

It was found in the 2010 study that psoriasis sufferers can suffer from mental problems and they tend to drink more alcohol. Sadly, alcohol can be a trigger for many psoriasis patients.

Sunburn

Willingly or unwillingly, everyone has to expose to the sun for a while at least. However, for psoriasis sufferers exposure to sun can cause major damage. While a normal amount of sun exposure can relieve symptoms in some cases, sunburn will mostly flare-up the symptoms.

Cold, Dry Weather

Dry and cold weather can be a worst case scenario for psoriasis sufferers. During cold weather, the skin gets ripped off its moisture and when you use drying heating units the matters only worsen. Minimize the time spent in such elements during cold weather.

Stress

Unfortunately, stress comes following psoriasis. Psoriasis comes in a package deal. The heavy fees for treatment, social stigma and having spending a life which will be filled with pain can cause a tremendous amount of stress to the sufferer.

Some Medications

There are certain medications that can interfere with the body’s immune system response and cause psoriasis attack. These medications with serious medications with side-effects include beta-blockers, steroidal medicines and pills for treating malaria.

Infections

Infections like strep throat, thrush and upper respiratory infections can easily trigger occurrence of psoriasis. If you suspect attack from any of these bacteria, you must get a medical attention immediately.

Scratches, Bites and Skin Injury

Insect bites, cuts or any kind of skin injury can be a cause of psoriasis. These kinds of injuries which can give birth to the skin condition can occur while performing everyday activities like shaving, acupuncture, etc.
