Pump Some Iron

One excellent and healthful way to distract your body is to do physical activity. Instead of grabbing something to eat, lift the dumbbells, go for a walk or run on a treadmill. Physical activity can also provide the motivation to avoid unnecessary eating. Cardiovascular exercises can help to suppress appetite.

A Cup of Tea

If you have to have something, you can turn to certain healthy foods to stay full by eating fewer calories. Make yourself a cup of green or black tea to avoid eating when you're bored. It fills your stomach and suppresses appetite to decrease hunger.

Take a Shower or Bath

When you are bored, take a shower! It is one of the healthiest ways you can kick a bad mood. So, treat yourself to a hot shower. Some time spent under the water can render many benefits such as skin cleansing and relieving muscular aches.

Take a Nap

A short nap that lasts as little as 30 minutes can eliminate hunger cravings. A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine suggests that getting enough sleep prevents ghrelin levels from increasing. Ghrelin is the hormone that increases hunger by stimulating neurons in the brain, and sends across hunger signals.

You have to distract yourself from eating when you're bored. Call a friend to turn the brain’s focus from eating. A 10-minute chit-chat with a friend will take your mind off a snack that you previously had an eye on.
