Silent Illnesses

Some diseases can be more troubling because of the absence of symptoms in the early stages. These diseases are difficult to figure out as there are no warning signs or specific symptoms. As early diagnosis is key to effective treatment, you need to schedule regular medical checkups to prevent these illnesses from taking hold of the silent ailments. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Diabetes

Diabetes is sometimes referred to as ‘the silent killer’ as one cannot possibly know they have it because there are no symptoms until much later. In most cases, the medical condition goes undiagnosed for quite some time because of vague symptoms such as excessive thirst, frequent urination and irritability. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Osteoporosis

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) starts with a blood clot in  lodged vein deep in your body, mostly in the legs. From legs, it can move up to block the blood flow to your lungs. This, known as a pulmonary embolism, can cause serious organ damage and is fatal. Only few cases show warning signs such as pain, swelling or a warm sensation in the leg that otherwise does not have any sign at all. (Image source:Gettyimages)
