10 Life Lessons Kids Teach Us

We spend too much time telling our kids the "ways" to live a fruitful life, but we seldom realise that there is a lot we can learn from them.

Life Lessons to learn from Kids

We often focus on what we should be teaching our children, overlooking that it is them who teach us some of life's greatest lessons. Here's what we can learn from the little philosophers to bring more clarity and joy in our adulthood.  (Image source:Gettyimages)

Happiness is Omnipresent

"A day without laughter is a day wasted." - Charlie Chaplin
Children find happiness everywhere and spread it. They get into the laughter mode and forget that they had been crying a few moments ago. Unlike grownups, they are happy without a reason. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Play and Nothing Else

Kids would run to chase their friends until they are out of breath. For them, playing does not imply a whole lot of new words like weight loss, calorie burn, etc. Because they love what they do when they play, they are the last people standing.  (Image source:Gettyimages)

Engage but Whole-heartedly

Kids lose themselves in activities for hours – be it drawing, playing with clay, building a sandcastle. They will give meticulous attention to every detail. As we get older, we lose this trait. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Dance, Sing, Hum like No one's Watching

Kids dance like nobody's watching. And, it happens anytime and anywhere. Unlike adults, kids don’t need a bathroom to sing. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Be Compassionate

Kids practice compassion. They are generous enough to share things without expecting anything in return. When we grow up, we hear a lot about compassion and some of us even want to embrace it, but do not have a way around it. (Image source:Gettyimages)

There is Joy in Big and Small

It doesn’t matter to the kids if what they have to play with is big or small. From watching water falling from leaves to chasing the bubbles, they love it all. In fact,  it is these little things that give them immense joy. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Say what you Mean

Kids speak their mind. Unlike adults, kids don’t worry about how people would react to what they say.  They share an honest relationship with their peers. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Kids notice every little thing. They are always curious to know and learn.  The curiosity of kids is what makes them learn things faster.  (Image source:Gettyimages)

Never Give Up

When kids learn to ride a bicycle, no matter how many times they fall, they keep getting up until they succeed. They never give up. (Image source:Gettyimages)

Tell them anything and they will believe. They believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. They don't care if it's just a story.  (Image source:Gettyimages)
