Hair Care Myth: The grandma myth on ginger and baldness i.e using ginger to help grow hair is partially true. When used property properly ginger in fact reduces hair loss but it does not necessarily help you grow hair.
Question: I have a bald spot. I have been recommended to use ginger on that spot. Will this help me regrow hair?
Grannys’ Myth is partially true
Ginger is not a guaranteed cure for Baldness
No, there is no definite proof for ginger curing baldness, though ginger does help in combating hair loss. Ginger is a circulatory stimulant for the hair follicles and stimulates hair growth. It is also high in fatty acids. Fatty acids are recommended for fighting hair loss, stunted growth and thinning of hair. Use a mixture of equal quantities of ginger juice and olive oil and then rub it into your scalp, leaving it for 15 minutes before washing it off. It does wonders to the hair. Some people may be sensitive to ginger and may develop a rash. So for them, more dilution with oil is recommended.
