Coffee Rendezvous


Chilly and damp mornings always need a stimulant like a coffee-shot. Warm, wet and vibrant, it surely gives the energy boost that never fizzles out that easily. Here is another serious Mocha recipe.

Key Ingredients: 2 cups of skimmed milk, 1/2 cup of whipped cream, 2 cups of coffee, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, a dash of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.

Method: To begin with, mix coffee, milk, sugar granules and cocoa powder in the kettle. Heat the liquid and stir constantly. Add vanilla extract to it only after you remove it from the direct flame. Pour it in your mugs and top it with that smooth whipped cream and cinnamon!

Key Ingredients: 3 teaspoons of coffee, 6 pieces of crystallised sugar cubes, 230 mL of brandy, 2 lemon peels (sliced), 1 stick of cinnamon, 2 oranges’ peel, 10 whole cloves, 150 mL curacao.

Method: If you have been neglecting your mortar and pestle, take it out. Mash sugar lumps, peels cloves and cinnamon in it and heat it slightly. Then, add the already warmed brandy and curacao to it and keep stirring. Check for lumps. Ensure that all turns into a smooth running past. Add the coffee in the end. Stir and watch the juices and the dark coffee blend into a rich dark colour. The peels and cinnamon will fragrant the moist winter air captured in your home. Happy drinking!
