But first of all, you need to dry some orange peels, as fresh peel may not be easily usable. Peel 3-4 oranges and wash the peel with clean water. You can even use distilled water to wash them as it will remove all the impurities from the peel. Now let the peels dry for a couple of days under the sun. However, make sure that they are covered with a thin cloth or a net to keep dust and other impurities away. Once the peels are completely dry, grind the peels to turn them into finely powdered form. Store the powder in an airtight container for multiple uses. Here are some effective natural face masks that you can prepare from this orange peel powder.
Face Mask 1
Mix couple of teaspoonfuls of orange peel powder, a teaspoonful of baking soda and a teaspoonful of oatmeal together in a small bowl with little water in it. Stir well to prepare a thick paste. Once the paste is ready, use your fingers to apply the paste over your face and leave it there for around 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water. Oatmeal adds the extra benefit of deep cleansing your pores. Applying this pack thrice a week can give you smooth and acne-free skin.
Face Mask 2
A mixture of orange peel powder and milk can be very helpful in hydrating your skin. Mix a spoonful of the orange peel powder along with a spoonful of milk and stir them well to prepare a thick paste. Apply the paste as a face mask and let it stay for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water. The face mask will help lock in moisture inside your skin.
Face Mask 3
Take a spoonful of sandalwood in a cup and add a couple of spoonfuls of orange peel powder to it. A paste of equal parts of orange peel powder and fuller’s earth (also known as multani mitti) can be very effective in lightening the skin tone. Prepare a thick paste with the help of a spoonful of milk and apply it on your face for around 20 minutes, three times a week.
