Do you always wait for your body to tell you that it is time to drink water? Do not deprive your body of water because it can be fatal.

Is drinking water only when you are thirsty safe? Apparently, it can be detrimental to health to forget water until you crave for it. It is when you are already dehydrated that you feel thirsty. And, dehydration can do a lot of bad things to you.

thirst effects

Water is essential for life. It is water that keeps joints lubricated, ensures optimum functioning of organs, drains toxins out of the body and maintains bowel function. However, you can get in trouble if you drink water only when you are thirsty. Here’s why you must keep drinking water even before you feel thirsty and save yourself from the effects of dehydration.

When you must drink water

First thing in the morning: Just like splashing water on your face to feel awake, other internal organs also require a restart in the morning. Drink two glasses of water first up; this will assist the body’s systems in getting rid of toxins and help the circulatory system to get rid of free radicals.

Before meals: A glass of water before meals not only helps you eat less but also renders many other benefits. It moistens lining of the stomach to ensure that food ingredients do not cause any damage within or thereby, disturb the digestive process. It is better to have a glass of water at least 30 minutes before a meal.

Before snacks
: Not drinking water for a long time can confuse the body for hunger. Before you eat a snack, drink a glass of water; it tells you whether it is thirst that triggered the hunger pang or actually just a lack of fluid in the body. Also, it will keep you from eating high-caloric snack.

Before shower: A glass of water just before taking shower regulates your body temperature to safeguard you from cold or fever.

Before hitting the sack: Make it a routine to drink water before you sleep to make up for fluid loss or to keep dehydration away during the night.

Before and after workouts: Water is an incredible energy booster. Always drink water before and after exercises. It will keep fatigue and lethargy away.

If you have not had water for some time and even if you are not thirsty, get a glass of water for yourself.
