Our diets give us more nutrients than we require on a daily basis. However, our current methods of food production like over farming, use of pesticides along with the burgeoning of fast foods and poor cooking methods like over cooking, deep-frying ensure that our bodies are deprived of such important nutrients.

Nutritional deficiencies

Nutritional deficiencies over a period of time result in common problems which we all face - hair fall, lack lustre skin, weight gain, uncontrollable hunger, sugar cravings, low energy levels, mood swings, skin rash etc.
These nutrient deficiencies coupled with current problems of stress and little or no exercise can lead to lifestyle diseases such as type II Diabetes, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and more.
Many people do not like taking vitamin and mineral supplements, as they want to get everything from the diet. But, this route just doesn’t work in the lifestyle of the current world as our food today does not give us enough nutrients and antioxidants to defend ourselves against these harmful toxins. So, there arise the need to take vitamins, minerals and anti oxidants like selenium, vitamins A, C and E.

How to fix the nutritional problem

Easy solution to these problems is to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables when they are ripe and eat them immediately to get the maximum nutrients. Make sure you don’t lose nutrients, make sure you don’t overcook, deep fry and even reheat the leftovers as it causes a significant nutrition loss. You must steam, stir-fry, lightly cook or eat them raw.
Without optimum food intake combined with in-appropriate vitamin supplements we cannot expect to live a healthy life. The key to keeping fit in today’s world is to back up your body’s own defence system by taking your vitamin supplements.
