Another viral trend has gripped the nation with everyone trying on the #bottlecapchallenge where people have to spin the bottle cap with a kick. This trend has become a global phenomenon with our Bollywood celebrities showing their spinning kicks and splendid results. With just a few days of this global trend taking off, the #bottlecapchallenge on Instagram has more than 27,000 posts and still counting as this trend is just pulling in more and more people to try this stunt. As per a report in the New York Times, the challenge took over among MMA fighters. It is speculated that this challenge was made viral by Taekwondo instructor and fighter Farabi Davletchin.

Still wondering what the Bottle Cap Challenge is? It is taking off the bottle cap by a spinning kick. To execute this challenge, place a bottle on the table with the cap loosely fixed on it. The person performing the challenge has to uncap the bottle with a roundhouse kick. To complete the challenge, the cap should fly off the bottle and the bottle to remain stationary. Also, the challenge is to record this whole video in slow motion to see whether this has been done properly or not.

The challenge started making rounds when Max Holloway completed the Bottle Cap challenge and nominated music artist John Mayer to do so.

The Fast and Furious star was not behind in this! He soon uploaded his successful Bottle Cap Challenge video on his Instagram in slow-mo:

Our Bollywood stars were not behind in this social media mania when the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar posted his slow-mo video of uncapping the bottle. Even at the age of 51, Akshay Kumar’s fitness levels are on point. He wrote, “Taking inspiration from my idol Jason Statham, I will repost/retweet the Best I see, come on Guys and Girls get your Bottle out and your Legs in the Air, Let’s Do This.”

Following the footsteps of Khiladi was the Gully Boy star and the newbie on the block, Siddhant Chaturvedi. Raking in reviews for his acting in Gully Boy and his chocolate boy looks, he surely did a spending job with this challenge. He even wrote, “Next challenge - Let’s kick out the plastic bottles, not just their caps.”

The latest video of Bottle Cap Challenge to appear on social media is of Tiger Shroff, taking this challenge to a different level altogether. In his video, he is seen blindfolded while uncapping the bottle with a spinning kick. His blindfolded slow-mo Bottle Cap Challenge is surely a sign of his apt fitness levels. He writes in his post, “Well since everybody's showing off! Inspired by the great @donnieyenofficial! Yo @beyounick is this good enough? Looking good Ritesh sir.”

As a joke, Riteish Deshmukh even pulled a gimmick by posting Akshay’s slow-mo video with a quirky post:

To ace such difficult kicks and fitness acts, following are some of the tips to ace the spinning kick:

  • A spinning kick and turning side kick are straight line attacks
  • Even though this mentions spinning, the kick is a straight line kick and requires great precision
  • Spot your target with one eye and then target your kick. It will help you kick better
  • Work on flexibility as the more the flexible the body is, the better the kick can be!
