But today, we will tell you an unconventional way of consuming okra- Okra or Bhindi Water. Why okra or ladyfinger is good for health?

There is mention about okra water in Ayurveda. It is considered to be good for weight loss, diabetes, cholesterol control, heart diseases, to name but a few. As per Ayurveda, drinking okra soup or okra water daily in the morning protects you against various health problems. Okra contains protein, fat, fiber, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium and copper. It is a nutritionally-rich vegetable that is good for overall health.

How to make okra water

  • First, take 4-5 medium size okra and wash them well.
  • Cut these ladyfingers in roughly into four parts. 
  • Now keep these chopped okra in a jar.
  • Add 1 to 1.5 liters of water to the jar.
  • Now cover the jar with a flimsy cloth or sieve so that it keeps evaporating.
  • Allow the ladyfingers to remain in this water for 8 to 24 hours.
  • After that, squeeze out the ladyfingers so that all its extract is taken.
  • Now drink the water.
