Apart from ayurvedic medicines for diabetes, the general Ayurvedic detox diet for a diabetic person recommends eating raw and fresh vegetables or vegetable juices for the first three days since the commencement of the diet. The vegetables should be easy to digest and provide ample nutrition to the body. From the fourth day, one can gradually include easy-to-digest cooked foods such as soups. However, the main focus of the diet still has to be on the raw fruits and vegetables. Drinking plenty of water throughout the diet is very crucial for detoxification.
The diet provides ample nutrition without putting the digestive system under any stress which eventually allows the body to efficiently perform its natural detox processes. The ayurvedic detox diet should be followed for around 10 days before switching back to normal diet. It can be repeated 3 to 4 times a year depending on the amount of toxin a person has in the system.
