When your body contracts a viral infection, the immune system responds in the form of fever. Although fever is usually caused by bacterial and viral infection, there are some environmental and medical factors which can cause it.
The symptoms of fever include elevated body temperature, sore throat, body pain, headache and at times a runny nose.
Deep breathing and some yoga positions can help you bring down body temperature and remove discomfort. Yoga can clear congestion and help you breathe easier. Nadi Shodhan Pranayam
This yoga posture has a relaxing effect on the nervous system, which will help you bring down the body temperature to normal. With this simple breathing exercise, you can clean your respiratory and circulatory system. This posture can be highly beneficial in curing headache.
Anulom Vilom Pranayama
This yoga posture can channelize energy in your body and also cleanse and purify the system. Practising this posture can stimulate the inner mucosal lining relieving cold, which is a symptom of fever.
The rigorous inhalations and powerful exhalations practised in this yoga posture can help you clear nasal passages. This breathing technique can release 80 percent of toxins from your body when you exhale.
Sarvangasana or Headstand
The drainage in your body and your nasal passage is opened while you are in this inverted posture. Besides, it can also improve blood circulation and energy levels.
Matsyasana or Fish Pose
This pose will let you extend your chest and lungs, increasing your breathing capacity. It will also help your body fight ache and fatigue caused by fever. You may also combat stress with this posture.
