“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.” – Ezekiel 15:17, the Holy Bible. Consider this that the Bible says and take a look at your life; are you facing thorns on your way or is it a smooth sail?

The fault they say is in our stars, but stars are mere celestial objects and whatever impact it may have on us is just a fraction of what you can do. You have to hold your life with both hands and shake it until it gets on the right and true path. There are times when you may feel unsure of your own stance, unsure of what you are doing and where you are headed to. The place where you are headed to may not be a sunlit delight with flowers and manna flowing all around. It could be something quite different and that which will make you wonder where you went wrong on your journey. Did you take the true and the right path? Or were you on the wrong path all the while never really realising it? Here are five signs that say that you are not following the true path.

Futile Consolations

If you are constantly consoling yourself that you will change things tomorrow or the next week, or next month then you are definitely on the wrong path. People who do not have any vision in life often tend to console their own selves with false promises. What you will do tomorrow hardly matters, what you will do today is that which is most important of all.

Over Indulging

You know you are in the false path when you are over indulging in things. Over eating, over shopping, over drinking, and any sort of self-sabotaging behaviour is considered to be harmful. You are constantly behaving in such a manner because your life is out of balance and you need to get things designed correctly. Most times people over indulge when they lack a vision and lack a sense of judgment.

Messy Home

Your life is going on a wrong path when there is no order in your personal space, and your home is your most important personal space. Look around your home and see; you will know what it says to you. If your home is cluttered and is in the need for some serious cleaning then you know that you are on the wrong path. The path of the right man will make him orderly and mindful of his surroundings. You are probably as messed up as your home on the mental level.

You get Lost

If you are turning in circles and forgetting or getting lost, then you are definitely on the wrong path. You have no idea where you are heading to and you seem to be in a state of oblivion most times. You are a lonesome wandering soul with no definitive destination, every man has a destination and if you lack one then well, you are very certainly on the wrong path.

Afraid of Results

You are on the wrong path when you are afraid to ask questions or to go through something because you know that you may not like the answer and the result. You cannot think about something with a clear mind because you are too afraid to think about it in the first place. The fact is that you are too afraid of being afraid and therefore you want to shut yourself up and let it be. Let everything pass you by and you do not want to be bothered by any of it because you may not be able to handle it all too well.

Finally, at the end of it, you must remember that if it seems all too easy then it is probably the wrong road. To paraphrase what the Bible has to say once again, if you are righteous, then your path would be full of thorns. Are you bleeding, or are you peacefully sleeping?
