Quick Bites
  • What is it that makes a relationship last a long time?
  • Do not go for blatant PDA, holding hands is good enough
  • Trust strengthens a relationship so trust your partner

The love stories we all see on the big screen can be our reality only if we put in the efforts and say the right things. Making things work right now between you and your partner can help your relationship last longer, but does it guarantee that your relationship is meant to last? Yes, it does.

There are many couples who spend their entire lives together, and we all secretly wish that for ourselves. But what is it that keeps them together? What is the secret? Well, here are 5 secrets to make your relationship a success.

Find your common interests and work on them

It is okay if you guys have disparate interests but that does not mean that you guys are doomed. People in relationships find interesting things and develop new interests by hanging more with their partners. The key is to find what you guys enjoy together and make time for it. If there is nothing then learn something about your partner and who knows, you might fall in love with it.

Hold hands

PDA (public display of affection) is okay if it’s to a minimal level - no need to go overboard. When you guys hang out, make sure you hold hands to show each other affection. It is a sign of comfort and love, and caring about your partner is more important than to see what is going around you or what other people might think.

Trust and forgive

Arguments are a part of a relationship and forgiving is equally important. If you love somebody, then trusting them should not be a huge task. And if you can trust them, then forgiving is as easy. Begrudging your partner is the worst thing you can do in a relationship, so the next time you guys fight – be a less argumentative and more forgiving. After all, trust is the foundation of a relationship.

Focus on the rights

Positivity is as important in a relationship as love, without it your relationship might seem empty. Do not always point out what is it that your partner is doing wrong, instead look at the rights and compliment them whenever you get a chance. This does not mean that you have to neglect everything they do wrong, if there is something they did wrong and are not realizing then you should tell them. But find more reasons to compliment them than finding faults in them.

Be proud of your relationship

Nobody is asking you to go all out with hoardings on the tallest building of your city but a little affection won’t harm anybody. Ensure that your partner knows how you feel about everything and how important the relationship is it to you. Actions speak louder than words in relationships, so grab every chance you get to let your partner know that you appreciate them and are proud to be them.
