A few months back I was losing constant weight. I tried everything but could not get to my ideal weight. I got myself checked; all the reports came out normal. I was worried, I had just got out of a relationship, my job was in trouble and I was losing weight for no reason at all. Then a friend asked me to consult a psychologist. I was surprised when I came to know that all the stress that I was going through was the reason behind my weight loss.
There are times when you feel fatigued; your limbs feel lethargic, you unintentionally lose weight or you gain weight, you feel a constant restlessness in your body, all these things might seem related to your physical health but you must know that these symptoms also surface when you are overstressed.
Yes, whenever you are overstressed, some of the signs and symptoms might mimic other health problems. You won’t even realise that you are under stress because it will be hidden under several very vague symptoms.
This is what happened with me. I was constantly losing weight and did not know that my overstress was the reason. Actually when you are overstressed, it affects your appetite. You either start eating more than your usual diet or less than what you eat usually. Losing or gaining appetite causes you to lose and gain weight.
You will feel tired and fatigued all the time. You feel heavy on your limbs, your head aches, and you feel like you haven’t slept while your sleep pattern is absolutely normal. No matter what you do, the tiredness does not leave your body. This is such a vague symptom; at first it is a bit difficult to identify the exact cause.
If you feel that your sleep pattern is disturbed, you have started getting lesser sleep than before or maybe it has become difficult for you to fall asleep, or you get nightmares whenever you sleep, there is any sort of alteration in your sleep pattern, you are over stressed. The root of all your sleeping problems can be your overstress. You think at night, the thing stressing you will run in your head all night long and when you finally fall asleep, you have nightmares about the thing causing you stress.
You think, you think a lot. You are always worried, you let over-thinking consume you completely that you fail to relax. If you are not able to stop your brain, you are overstressed.
