It emphasises a deeper bonding between you and your partner, after understanding yourself, for not only enhanced sexual pleasure but also better bonding in your married life.

You need to have an open discussion with your partner before trying to practice any of the Kamasutra postures. First of all, it would be advisable to go through the whole of the book. Do not make the mistake of skipping all chapters and coming straight at the sex positions. You would hardly be benefitted and run the risk of ruining your sexual health if each of the earlier and later portions of the book is not discussed.
The best way to discuss the book would be to read it together with your partner and go on discussing about each of the topics. Reading the book together would give you the ideal opportunity of discussing it and be familiar with its basic concepts.

As Kamasutra is more a treatise on how to have a healthy relationship with your partner, even the love positions described in it laid emphasis on the equal participation between the partners for constructive use of the sexual energy. So, the scripture has advice for partners not to be satisfied with the missionary position as it is not only monotonous but also renders the women’s role in love making passive.
No posture or position in Kamasutra is biased towards either of the sexes when it comes to the necessity for participation. This is in keeping with the principle of using sex as a constructive force for improving the bond for a happy married life. The synergy between you and your partner brings about greater fulfilment from the sexual act. The very Sanskrit word “samabhog”, generally understood to mean sexual intercourse, actually means equal pleasure.
There are comprehensive guidelines in Kamasutra to enable couples to have more fun. It includes starting by sexless enjoyments that build your rapport with the partner. This could be achieved by playing games, travelling together and having stimulating conversations. Discuss all these aspects of the scripture with your partner as when fun becomes easy, it is bound to rub off to other aspects of the relationship.
