Sore joints can also be caused by excessive use of joints, wear and tear and degeneration that gradually comes with age. The important connective tissues in this condition become inflamed or stiff causing severe pain. They can make life quite uncomfortable or in extreme cases cause immobility. The knees, fingers and wrists are among the more common areas for sore joint problems to appear. Although some joint problems can be controlled with anti-inflammatory medications bought over the counter, ayurvedic cures and home remedies for sore joints have been used for thousands of years to alleviate pain.

Cod liver oil, rich in omega-3 fats, is known to have anti-inflammatory effect. This oil is also a rich source of both vitamin D and vitamin A. Replenishing your vitamin D levels could reduce chronic joint pain and alleviate swelling in the joints.
Ginger is a natural remedy for sore joints. Ginger can relieve inflammation and pain in the affected areas.
A topical preparation that contains alcohol or oil and stimulating, warming herbs can be used to cure sore joints. To increase the heat, the affected area should be covered with a cloth after application. Turmeric is extremely helpful in curing sore joints. You can take turmeric powder with milk or water to get relief from this problem. A powerful compound known as curcumin present in turmeric helps in reducing the inflammation in joints, thereby reducing soreness as well as pain.
Gorge on carrots to soothe sore joints. Carrots contain beta-carotene which is extremely useful for healthy ligaments. Drink carrot juice mixed with a little juice of lemon. Health issues related to age are inevitable. However, instead of seeking methods such as painkillers or steroids it is always recommended to choose a safer alternative such as Ayurveda.
