Exercise goes a long way in managing the symptoms of Arthritis. It strengthens the muscles around the joints so less stress is exerted on the joint during movement. Stretching and physiotherapy also helps in increasing the range of movement of the joint. However, there are times when the infection is aggravated and the joints are swollen. Should one exercise regularly even during these times? How can exercise affect the joints when they are swollen or in severe pain? Is it beneficial or harmful at this point? These are questions that need to be answered for people who suffer from this disorder.
