According to Dr. P.K. Dave, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Rockland Hospital, New Delhi, many things cause neck pain. Your table height or chair height may not be right. You are spending a lot of time on your table. So bending forward for a longer period of time can result in neck pain. Lack of exercise is another cause of neck pain. Without exercise muscle becomes weak and this causes neck pain. Another factor responsible for neck pain is stress. Stress causes pain in cervical spine. Poor posture, wrong reading and habits contribute to neck pain. Age is also an important factor that causes neck pain. The joints of the cervical spine undergo wear and tear causing pain.
