Heart attack usually takes years to develop. Atherosclerosis occurs at very early age. Fat deposition in the large arteries can be seen immediately after the birth but due lack of exercise and high fatty diet and faulty lifestyle some of portions of these fats transfer into Atherosclerotic Plaques. Some of these plaques can be obstructive or ruptured leading to the development of heart attack and the timeline for that could be forty years. In Indian population it takes around 40- 50 years for the clinical expression of heart disease or heart attack but in western countries it occurs at the age of 60 years.
