Sleep disorders may result in unexplained weight again. Lack of sleep is known to interfere with the hormones that indicate whether you are hungry or full, thereby, causing you to overeat. According to a study, people who do not get ample sleep, actually enjoy eating more. Well, that explains a lot.
Depression is of the most common causes of weight gain. It not only affects you mentally but physically as well. Besides, use of medications for the treatment of depression also results in weight gain. Not just anti depressants are to be blamed, there are plenty of drugs in other class that can affect your weight such as insulin, beta blockers and contraceptives. So, if you have started a new medication and notice changes in your weight, it could actually be because of the medication.
You know what else can wreak havoc on your waist line? Conditions that give you unbearable pain such fibromyalgia, arthritis and sciatica can also make you gain weight. Well, that’s because people who suffer from such conditions tend to be less active or they don’t sleep very well. Besides, medication prescribed for nerve pain may also lead to weight gain.
Although it’s a rare condition, but this endocrine disorder which occurs due to the excessive production of cortisol can make you gain weight. It also affects the way your weight is distributed.
